About | Loie Favre, Translations, Language and Content Expert
I grew up speaking both English and French in the province of Alberta in Canada and took advantage of a very international upbringing having lived in Switzerland with my family. There, at the young age of 14, I developed a fascination for the German language as well (which first sounded like gurgles to me, soon became one of the most interesting yet challenging languages I have had the pleasure of learning). My love for this language and zeal for discovering other cultures brought me to Berlin, where I lived for 7 years. In 2018, I moved to Montenegro.

I first launched my freelance business in 2015 in Berlin, Germany

Education
Languages and translation have always been my passions. I decided to make a career of it after graduating in 2009 with a BA in French and German, with a specialization in Translation studies from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.

Industry Experience
I spent many years as an head of content and translator for an online tech magazine, to being a freelancer, and love the opportunities this change has presented. I also provide proofreading and editing services. In addition to my freelancer work, I have worked extensively in Marketing, for Libertex Group, a finance giant with millions of downloads and clients. For both, I took care of translation project management as well.
I often undertake projects for the United Nations Online Volunteer Program as well as translate many local websites that support projects close to my heart. You can also check out my blog where I share my own knowledge and experience regarding translation and languages.
